So Lucky

I am not a fan of the winter, I do like Christmas but don't care for the cold.  This year it was so warm on Christmas day, it was so nice.   I love shopping the few months leading to Christmas with my girls, and it is really the only time I enjoy shopping.  It is the time I spend with them and I love to buy for others. Not pictured but Roger brought me a thimble and t-shirt from his San Francisco trip! It can be a rather depressing time of the year so I try to enjoy the little things....here are a few

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was so crazy busy this year, we celebrated with my family and Rogers's, it is just so much when a toddler is involved. I have more photos, these are just from my phone.

 Later in the evening just our little family got together and played Cards Against Humanity, it was a blast, such a fun game suggested by Kynedy.  It was the best time.

Beautiful Christmas Cactus

I bought my mom and aunt Barbara a Christmas cactus.  They asked me to pick one up as a favor,  it was a great idea for two very selfless people, it made me feel great to be able to buy them one. 

It has a beautiful bloom over Christmas. 

My Momma

I can't say enough good things about my mom.  With little to no money she always buys  for everyone including significant others. With her limited mobility I love getting all her gifts ready.  This year was so hectic,  with young ones,  and rushing to get to Rogers family so I didn't get much time with my mom. 

Christmas day they all ended up very sick, we are watching her closely.   Here are all her gifts. 🌲. She and I also built a gingerbread house it was SO much fun !

Friday before a Two Week Break

It felt great to type that, although I really enjoy my job I am always ready for a break!  I have had a wonderful week playing secret santa and receiving gifts from my secret santa, I have gotten lots of goodies!!  Today we do our white elephant exchange and our Christmas luncheon.

Sweet AJ

Please ignore the picture of me LOL, it is hard to capture this little guy, he is always moving!  We hung out a bit last night while momma and daddy worked.  There is truly nothing like spending time with a grandchild.  We watched s couple movies, had some chicken nuggets and were our silly selves!  Roger has been in California for work the last couple of days, I am so ready for him to be home, he may drive me crazy some days but I am so thankful he is all mine!

A Fun Tuesday

Just a few more days before break!  Yesterday, I celebrated with my 28 student employees that work for the Library.  I am extremely thankful for them, they have made my transition to my new position so easy.  I absolutely love my new position, this part of my job is the best part, our students are one of kind and so intelligent.  

I have AJ on Tuesday's while his mom and dad work.  He has a bit of a runny nose so we just cuddled and watch Toy Story last night.  He loves the coffee table at our house, he knows he isn't supposed to be on it, but this was way too cute.

The campus is very quiet, when I arrive early for work everyday.  It seems like when it snows it is even more quiet! I absolutely love it, it is so peaceful.  Just a few photos this morning as  I headed into work.  Hope you all have a blessed day!

Winter Wonderland

Old man winter has arrived!!  After more than enough snow Sunday we got hit with some more on Monday.  I didn't have to drive too far in it so I enjoyed it much more.  School was cancelled but Kynedy still had to work that evening.  I left work a bit early to pick up cookies for my students Christmas party and to pick up some items I had previously purchased.  I snapped these photos while leaving work.  The Collett park photo is my favorite area at the park, so many memories taking pictures there and in the spring the tulip trees are beautiful!

Shopping in Plainfield

I am so thankful for the relationship I have with both of my daughters.  I love the time we spend together, it is priceless.  Yesterday was our annual Holiday shopping at Perry's Crossing, it took some planning as both girls are busy with school, work and Ali is chasing a toddler!  Of course they were calling for a winter storm on the one and only day we could all get together. We had a great time and found some great bargains had a delicious lunch and then the snow hit....I don't think any of us will ever forget this trip, it took 2 hours to get home and I just guessed where the lanes were LOL.  

Needless to say, I think the snow is gorgeous but do not like driving in it!!

Pancakes with Santa

Saturday I took AJ to have pancakes with Santa!  He had a wonderful time, he made an ornament, loved his sausage patty and well fell fast asleep while in line to see Santa!!  I am not sure the photos would have went as smooth as they did, had he not fallen asleep!  This little guy is such a character!
